This ad is just bad...hands down. Unfortunately, I have spoken to many people that really believe "Clean Coal" truly exists.

So it's American? So it's established? So what? What exactly does that prove? "We are the status quo. Ergo, stick with us." The world's in the shape it's in because we've been doing things one way. To think we can keep doing them that way and get away with it is folly.

A flat-out load of BS. I like no mention of "clean coal" anywhere in the copy, just in the tagline at the end. I suppose that they think if they repeat the phrase enough times the public will start believing such a thing as "clean coal technology" exists. Too bad we don't have a rating category for "Potential to Promote Lasting Environmental Destruction" because this stinker would win the booby prize.

Coal is not clean - it is one of the dirtiest & inefficient sources of electricity around.

Clean Coal Technology doesn't exist and could be years and years down the road. What the ad doesn't touch on is the devastation coal mining has on the environment, even if they could figure out how to burn it with little or no emissions.
